MY JACK

Even thinking about typing this post makes me a little teary…. today I’m sharing a senior session of the boy who has maybe been photographed by me more than any other (except maybe his sister!) and really was the reason for me starting this career in photography. In case you didn’t know, before I started this business I operated a home child care and Jack and his little sister Ella spent their early days with me. I might have shared this photo before, but the first photo in this post always makes me laugh … it’s where I got my start. I was always taking snapshots of my daycare kids and one day Jack and Ella’s mom dropped them off with some cute Christmas outfits and asked if I could take a Christmas card photo for them. So at nap time I dressed them up and turned on the lights on the tree and did my best! I remember sweating my way through that and thinking there is no way I could ever do this for other people… it’s so hard!

Well long story short, the photo went on the Christmas card and as it was sent out some of their friends asked if I would ever consider taking photos for them. Aaaand Rialee Photography was born. I had SO much fun going back in the archives to look for some of these old photos… the then and now of it all just squeezes my heart. Jack Henry… thank you for letting me practice on you all those years. And Erin, thank you for always being my biggest supporter and cheerleader. Now look at your baby boy all grown up. There’s that lump again.
